Sources and Evidence

Black Library and Games Workshop product pages, catalogues, announcements, edition copyright pages, and other official editorial material are the primary source category. Depending on the material, these sources may support titles, contributors, publication dates, formats, identifiers, series membership, or publisher-defined relationships.

An official source supports only the fields it actually states. BLE does not extend a statement from one edition or territory to every edition without evidence.

Library catalogues, bibliographic catalogues, and retailer listings are secondary sources. They can help distinguish editions and may support identifiers, formats, contributor credits, or release information when the record is specific enough to evaluate.

These records do not automatically override directly applicable official material. Aggregated listings may combine editions or repeat upstream errors, so conflicts are handled under the methodology.

Community-maintained databases, wikis, discussions, and reading lists can reveal material that needs investigation. BLE uses them as discovery leads, not as the sole published evidence for a bibliographic fact. A stronger source must support the fact before it is treated as reviewed data.

BLE does not maintain public product-source records, access dates, per-article source lists, or claim-level citation data. Guides, reading orders, and topic hubs are editorial navigation rather than research dossiers. Their publication links lead to BLE's own catalogue pages.

Entity detail pages summarize the structured catalogue data available to BLE. They do not publish per-field verification badges or a separate source record. Do not infer that a catalogue field or editorial statement has received an individual source review; send suspected errors through the correction process.
