Submit a correction

Send correction reports to @blexplorerapp on X. The account is the current stable public correction contact. BLE does not promise a response or resolution time.

Please include:

  • the affected page or record URL;
  • the field or statement in question;
  • the current value and proposed correction;
  • the title and URL of supporting evidence; and
  • any edition, format, territory, or date context needed to evaluate the claim.

Do not send credentials, payment information, private correspondence, or other sensitive personal data.

Triage and evidence standard

Reports are checked for a reproducible location and evidence relevant to the specific claim. BLE then applies the published source hierarchy and conflict rules. Community discussion can identify an issue, but a bibliographic correction needs stronger supporting evidence before it is published.

A report may remain unresolved when sources conflict, the reported material cannot be accessed, or the evidence does not identify the relevant edition precisely enough. BLE will not fill that gap by guessing.

Publishing corrections

Accepted corrections update the affected data or editorial content. Material changes may be summarized in a public correction history when that facility is available. A correction summary can describe the changed claim and supporting evidence without identifying the person who submitted it.

Submitter privacy

Correction submitters remain private unless they explicitly consent to public identification. BLE may publish a non-identifying summary of the report, evidence, review, and outcome. Public correction history must not expose a submitter's handle, name, messages, or other personal information without that separate consent.
